Diabetes (Diabetes mellitus) is a chronic disease in which the levels of blood glucose (blood sugar) are higher than normal. • Fat. Fat is found in butter, margarine, lard, oils, many dairy and meat products. You may avoid fried foods, mayonnaise-based dishes (unless they are made with fat-free mayo), egg yolks, bacon and high-fat dairy products. Keep in mind that before you eating, check the label to see how many grams of carbohydrates they contain.
